Collection: Kelsey Sampsel: Flora

I created this collection as a ritual of healing following the loss of my brother. In the depth of grief, I felt as though I had lost the ability to see color; the world had turned monochrome, and the act of painting,once my lifeblood, felt like an impossible task. Slowly, through the quiet rhythm of many hikes, the world began to regain its vibrance. I found myself drawn back to color and the act of painting once again, channeling that outdoor stillness into this collection of flora.

These works are a testament to the resilience of the spirit, that joy is found not by ignoring the passage of time, but by embracing it. Through these botanical forms, we see the rhythmic cycle that all beings share, the constant, beautiful transition of blooming and decaying through every season.
