Patricia Coughlin
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember, and started my University career as an art major, before switching to the study of Psychology. I went on to obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology, have run a full-time practice for 45 years, as well as writing 5 professional books and lecturing internationally. As I let go of this career, painting has assumed a more prominent role in my life.
Around 2017, I started to paint again, beginning with representational work and eventually shifting to abstract and mixed-media painting. During this time, I have studied with Nicholas Wilton, Fran Skiles, Michael Shemchuk, Jane Burton, and Krista Harris, and many others. My paintings are in collections throughout the US and Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My work was exhibited in the Cottonwood Center of the Arts and the Lucky Pig Gallery from 2021-24. I was awarded a month-long artist residency in France in 2025. Currently, I am represented by Auric and Surface Galleries in Colorado Springs.
