Don't worry, you're not crazy. We all feel it too. The lingering malaise in the back of your mind when you wake up in the morning, the shadowed thought that everything feels like it is slipping away. You are going to have to put on your pants, your shoes, your mask and go to work. You order coffee, talk to clients, interact with people in line at the bank, like everything is normal. Just a normal day. But you know it's not normal, you can see the cracks, two disparate realities co-existing in the same space. You just want to scream, "CAN WE ALL JUST STOP PRETENDING!"
But, maybe you don't notice it. and I guess that's okay, But it could also be the problem. The reason the monsters are coming in the front door. We hold on to the idea that because everything was fine before, everything will be fine again. We numb ourselves in a curated augmented reality with a mantra, If something is not happening to us, then it is not happening.
It is okay to feel exhausted as we navigate the dichotomy of what it means to live in an age where we watch billionaire oligarchs unravel our social norms to the soundtrack of tick-tock dances and social media influencers living a life of big hats, manicured opinions and $40 bottles of water. Let them eat cake.
