Our Mission

SURFACE is an art gallery and retail store that highlights original artwork, celebrates the creative mind, and showcases well designed goods. SURFACE represents emerging to established artists that create work with a fresh perspective.

We focus on growing community among artists, supporting their practices and providing a venue for the public to experience and purchase artwork. We display work that is modern, contemporary and functional in design. We curate monthly exhibitions that are inspiring and thought provoking.

Our handmade goods are carefully chosen, special items that will make people’s personal lives and homes beautiful. We sell crafted goods that are well designed and made materials that are from the earth striving to find many sustainable and fair trade goods from international, as well as local artisans. We also carry products that compliment the gallery such as beautiful art supplies and art books.

Intro to Watercolor

Thursday nights in September 12 - Oct. 10

The goal of this class is to find the delight and playfulness of watercolor. We will cover the basics of watercolor from color charts, to painting a still life, and composing a landscape painting. Most of the class will be spent on practicing watercolor technique within the context of the elements of art. The intent is to inspire you to take your paints to the mountains or on your next trip and create a venue for you to be able to soak in the beauty of nature

Beyond Essentials

Mondays at 7pm, September 16 - Oct. 15

A more in depth look at color theory, composition, and sketchbook development. Taking the concepts you have been introduced to and putting them into practice from a variety of angles.
